How To Resubmit A Failed Payment
Having trouble with a failed payment? Don’t worry, this happens sometimes, and it’s usually a quick fix. This article walks you through why payments fail and exactly how to get yours back on track.
Why Did My Payment Fail?
If a payment fails after entering the payment process, the invoice and related PO status change to “Payment Failed” and stay in the “Payment Tracking” list.
Common causes include an inactive payment account, invalid bank account details, an unconnected payment method, or rejection by the payment platform.
Step 1: Review The Failure Reason
In the “Payment Tracking” list, hover over the icon next to the “Payment Failed” status to see the failure reason.
Step 2: Update Your Payment Information
Update your payment method or account information as needed to resolve the issue.
Step 3: Resubmit The Payment
Under the “Actions” column on the failed invoice row, click the ellipsis icon and select “Resubmit”.
Step 4: Confirm The Resubmission
In the confirmation window, verify that the issue has been resolved, then click “Yes”.

What You Need To Know About VAT Invoices
The steps you’ll need to take next depend on the invoice amount:
- If the total amount is RMB 1,000 or less, your invoice is resubmitted directly and its status changes from “Payment Failed” to “In Payment”. No additional PO approval is required.
- If the total amount is greater than RMB 1,000, you must upload a valid VAT invoice before your payment can be resubmitted.
- If you already submitted a VAT invoice, you may need to replace it with a new one based on the updated payment amount shown during resubmission.
- VAT validation is based on the total monthly amount entering the payment process, not on an individual PO or invoice.
