Identity Verification  –  What You Need to Know

As part of our efforts to keep OneForma secure and compliant, we may ask you to verify your identity. This process is quick, secure, and essential to ensure the integrity of our community.

Why am I being asked to verify my identity?


You’ll be prompted to complete verification when applying for certain jobs. This helps us:

  • Prevent fraud and impersonation
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure a safe and trustworthy environment for everyone

How does the identity verification process work?

If you are required to complete identity verification, a pop-up notification will be displayed when you click on the Apply for this job button. If you select Proceed, you will be redirected to the identity verification flow, which is securely handled by our trusted third-party provider, Persona. If you do not complete the verification, you will not be able to continue with your application.

Once redirected to the identity verification flow, you’ll be guided through a few simple steps:

  1. Select your document country – by default, this will be pre-filled with the country of residence you registered on OneForma.
  2. Select your document type – for example, a government-issued ID, passport, or driver’s license.
  3. Take a picture of your document – use your device’s camera to take clear photos of the front and back of your document.
  4. Complete a liveness check – a short camera step that confirms you are the real person completing the verification.  
  5. (If required) Provide proof of address – you may be asked to submit a photo of a utility bill or recent bank statement.

What happens after I submit my verification?


Most verifications are completed within a few minutes. In some cases, your submission may be sent for a manual review, which can take up to 1–2 business days.

If your verification is successful, you will:

  • See a confirmation screen at the end of the verification flow.
  • Receive a confirmation email.

If your verification is unsuccessful, and we are unable to verify your identity, you will:

  • See a message in the verification flow stating that your identity could not be verified.
  • Receive an email notification.
  • Your access to OneForma may be restricted.


If your verification is sent to manual review, you will:

  • See this status displayed at the end of the flow.
  • Receive an email notification with next steps.

Tips for Completing Verification

  1. Make sure your OneForma Account Profile Details are up to date and truthful.
  2. Make sure you have a working camera on the device you are using.
  3. If you start the process on a device without a camera, you can switch to another device (such as a smartphone or tablet) to complete the verification. Just follow the on-screen prompt to continue on another device.
  4. Ensure you have good lighting, and your document is clear and readable.
  5. Use original documents. Do not use scanned copies or images of documents taken from another screen or device.

Why was my verification sent to manual review?

In some cases, your submission may meet specific review criteria that require additional checks. This means that it needs to be reviewed by our team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and security. The process usually takes 1–2 business days. You’ll be notified via email once a decision has been made.

Why was my verification unsuccessful?

Your identity couldn’t be verified based on the documents or information you submitted. This can happen for several reasons, including:

  • The information in your document(s) didn’t match what was expected or required
  • The selfie didn’t meet verification criteria
  • Multiple accounts were detected under the same identity

You have three attempts to complete the process successfully. If verification fails after all three attempts, it is considered a reliable indicator that your identity cannot be confirmed.  You may still appeal the decision by contacting our team at [email protected]. However, please note that due to the robustness of the verification process, unsuccessful results are rarely overturned.

Will I need to verify my identity again in the future?

Once you successfully complete identity verification, it will remain valid for 18 months. During this period, you will not need to verify your identity again for any jobs that require verification. After 18 months, you may be asked to complete the process again to keep your account compliant and active.
