How To Set Up And Troubleshoot Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) On OneForma

To keep your account secure, OneForma requires MFA. This means that, after logging in, you’ll also enter a special code from an app on your mobile device. This guide walks you through the process of setting that up.

What Is MFA And Why Is It Required?

MFA adds a second layer of protection to your account. Even if someone gets your password, they would still need the unique code from your mobile device in order to access your account.

Think of it like a two-lock system: Your password is the first lock and the MFA code is the second lock.

What You’ll Need Before You Begin

  • A smartphone or tablet
  • An authenticator app, such as:
    • Google Authenticator
    • Microsoft Authenticator
    • Authy

Step-By-Step Guide

  1. Download an authenticator app
Open your phone’s app store and download one of the apps listed above.
  1. Log in to your account
If you haven’t already created your account, follow the account creation guide.
  1. Scan the QR code in the OneForma portal
Once you log in to your OneForma account, you’ll see a QR code.
  1. Open your authenticator app.
  1. Tap “+” or “Scan a QR code.”
  1. Point your camera at the screen to scan the code.
  1. Enter the six-digit code
Your authenticator app will generate a six-digit code. Type it into the relevant field on OneForma and click “Verify.”
  1. Save your recovery key
A recovery key will be shown. Write it down and store it somewhere safe. This helps you regain access if you lose your device.
  1. Click “Continue”
You’re all set! MFA should now be active.

Enable MFA immediately

Don’t wait! MFA is required for most tasks on OneForma. Enabling it now helps you avoid delays later.

When you’re secure, you’re ready to work

Once MFA is active, your OneForma account is protected with an added layer of security. You should now be able to safely move on to setting up your profile and applying for jobs.

Common Issues And How To Fix Them

Issue Probable cause Solution
Can’t scan QR code Camera issue or expired code Refresh the QR code page or try manually entering the code
“Invalid code” error Time mismatch Make sure your phone’s time settings are set to “automatic”
Still stuck? App compatibility or browser issue Try a different authenticator app or web browser

1. I don’t know what MFA is.

MFA is a security measure that requires a second layer of verification, usually via an app installed on your owned mobile device. If you’ve never set it up, follow the steps above.

2. I didn’t save my recovery key.

Your recovery key was provided when you enabled MFA and is also available in the Security tab of “My Profile.” If you didn’t note it down, contact support at [email protected].
